Cuddly Toy
by Harry Nillson
You're not the only cuddly toy
That was ever enjoyed by any boy,
You're not the only choo-choo train
That was left out in the rain the day after Santa came,
You're not the only cherry-delight
That was loved in the night and gave up without a fight,
You're not the only cuddly toy
That was ever enjoyed by any boy.
You're not the kind of girl to tell your mother
The kind of company you keep,
I never told you that I love no other,
You must of dreamed it in your sleep.
You're not the only cuddly toy
That was ever enjoyed by any boy,
You're not the only choo-choo train
That was left out in the rain the day after Santa came,
You're not the only cherry-delight
That was loved in the night and gave up without a fight,
You're not the only cuddly toy
That was ever enjoyed by any boy.
You're not the kind of girl to tell your mother
The kind of company you keep,
I never told you that I love no other,
You must of dreamed it in your sleep.
You're not the only cuddly toy
That was ever enjoyed by any boy,
You're not the only cuddly toy
That was ever enjoyed by any boy.

Daily Nightly
by Michael Nesmith
Dark and rolling figures move through prisms of no color,
Hand in hand, they walk the night, but never know each other,
Passion, pastel neon lights, light up the jeweled traveler,
Who, lost in scenes of smoke-filled dreams, find questions, but no answers.
Startled eyes that sometimes see phantasmagoric splendor,
Pirouette down palsied paths with pennies for the vendor,
Salvation's yours for just the time it takes to pay the dancer,
And, once again, such anxious men find questions, but no answers.
The night has gone and taken its infractions,
While reddened eyes hope there will be a next one.
Sahara signs look down upon a world that glitters glibly,
And mountain sides put arms around the unsuspecting city,
Second hands that minds have slowed, are moving even faster,
Toward bringing down someone who's found the questions, but no answers.

Don't Call On Me
by Michael Nesmith & John London
And now, from the elegant Pump Room of the magnificent Palmer House,
high over Chicago, asking that musical question..."
Don't call on me,
When you're feeling footloose,
And fancy-free,
You've done that before,
And, like a fool,
I came back for more.
It's all over now,
I've finally seen my way,
I need you no more,
Not now or any other day.
SOLO
Okay, little girl,
Live for yourself,
In your own little world,
I know that you'll find
Someone who'll play at love,
He'll...be just your kind.

Hard To Believe
by David Jones, Kim Capli, Eddie Brick & Charlie Rockett
It's hard to believe that you could ever doubt me,
I try not to hear the things you say about me,
And if you feel what I feel, please, I'd like to explain,
My love for you is more than just a game.
I hope and I pray we'll get together someday,
Then you'd see right away how hurt I am when I say,
That's if you feel what I feel, you won't go away,
A broken heart can't be the only way.
SOLO
And if you feel what I feel, you won't go away,
A broken heart, a broken heart, can't be the only way.
Now you must believe that when I saw you today,
Oh, I just couldn't say, you held his hand the same way,
If you don't feel what I feel, I'll go on my way,
But, as I turn my heart still wants to say:
"I love you, I need you, I do love you."

Love Is Only Sleeping
by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil
She looked at me,
And the emptiness in her eyes was cruel to see,
Then she turned away and said,
"Once I loved, but love is dead,"
And I whispered, "Sometimes love is only sleeping."
She said, "I cannot cry,"
"And I cannot give or feel or even try,"
And her voice was hard and cold,
Then her sweet young face looked old,
And I whispered, "Sometimes love is only sleeping."
Through the endless days and nights
She could not help but wrap herself in sorrow,
Through the endless days and nights
We waited for a shining new tomorrow,
Love was sleeping, sleeping.
She looked at me,
And her smiling tears feel warm and sweet and free,
And the moonlight kissed her eyes,
As it mingled with our sighs,
And she whispered, "Sometimes love is only sleeping,"
And she whispered, "Sometimes love is only sleeping,"

Peter Percival Patterson's Pet Pig Porky
by Peter Tork
Peter Percival Patterson had a pet pig named Porky,
This pet pig named Porky loved pie.
He loved pizza pie,
Pumpkin pie,
Pineapple pie,
Pizza pie,
Minced tarts.
And Peter Percival Patterson's pet pig Porky loved pie for breakfast,
Pie for lunch,
Pie in the afternoon,
And pie before he went to bed.
Peter Percival Patterson's pet pig Porky ate so much pie,
That, do you know what he did?
He popped.

Pleasant Valley Sunday
by Gerry Goffin & Carole King
The local rock group down the street
Is trying hard to learn their song,
They serenade the weekend squire
Who just came out to mow his lawn.
Another Pleasant Valley Sunday,
Charcoal burning everywhere,
Rows of houses that are all the same,
And no one seems to care.
See Mrs. Gray, she's proud today
Because her roses are in bloom,
And Mr. Green, he's so serene,
He's got a TV in every room.
Another Pleasant Valley Sunday,
Here in status-symbol land,
Mothers complain about how hard life is,
And the kids just don't understand.
Creature comfort goals, they only numb my soul,
And make it hard for me to see,
Ahhh...thoughts all seem to stray to places far away,
I need a change of scenery.
Another Pleasant Valley Sunday,
Charcoal burning everywhere,
Another Pleasant Valley Sunday,
Here in status-symbol land.
Another Pleasant Valley Sunday,
(A Pleasant Valley Sunday)

Salesman
by Craig Vincent Smith
Salesman, well, you're gonna go sell all of your goods today,
Salesman, gonna walk along the street, see friends along the way,
Whoa, salesman, with your wooden cart that you push along while you walk,
Hey, salesman, got a little dog whose tail wags when you talk,
You always wear a smile, even though you got to walk ten miles,
Short lifespan, good-time-salesman.
Yep, yep, salesman, running on the street, whether it's hot or cold,
It's salesman, well, you work real hard till every pot is sold,
Salesman, as the years go by, people changing every day,
Hey, salesman, till the end of time, you'll be living in the same way,
You always wear a smile, you're loving fast and you live wild,
Short life span, but ain't life grand?
Copper kettles, different kinds of tin,
There goes salesman and he's sailing high again,
He's sailing so high, (High)
He's sailing so high, (High)
He's sailing so high, (High)
High, (High)
High, (High)
Oh, salesman, well, you're gonna go sell all of your goods today,
Yep, salesman, gonna walk along the street, see friends along the way,
Hey, salesman, with your wooden cart that you push along while you walk,
Hey, salesman with your secret goods that you push while you talk,
You always wear a smile even though you got to walk a hundred and ten miles,
Short life span, but the whole thing's grand.

She Hangs Out
by Jeff Barry
Doo-de-ron-de-ron-de, doo-de-ron-ron,
How old did you say your sister was?
How old did you say your sister was?
You know you better keep an eye on her,
Doo-de-ron-de-ron-de, doo-de-ron-ron,
She hangs out,
She hangs out.
I know you taught your sister the boog-a-loo,
I heard you taught your sister the shing-a-ling, too,
Well, she can teach a-you a thing or two,
Whoa, doo-de-ron-de-ron-de, doo-de-ron-ron,
She hangs out,
She hangs out.
Well, she hangs out, hangs out,
Whoa, every night, every night,
You know you best get down here, on the double,
Before she gets her pretty little self in trouble,
She's so fine, so fine.
How old did you say your sister was?
How old did you say your sister was?
You know you better keep an eye on her,
Wow, doo-de-ron-de-ron-de, doo-de-ron-ron,
She hangs out,
Whoa, she hangs out.
(She hangs out)
Laaaa-la-la-la-la-la-laaa,
(She hangs out)
(She hangs out)
Laaaa-la-la-la-la-la-laaa,
(She hangs out)
(She hangs out)
Wow! Whoa! Yeah! Here we go now!
(She hangs out)
She's hanging out again.
I told her, man!
(She hangs out)
Whoa, she's gonna be in trouble!
You tell him, baby, yeah!
(She hangs out)
Yeah-hey!
(She hangs out)

Star Collector
by Gerry Goffin & Carole King
Think I'll let her keep on going
Wherever it is she's going to,
Give her my autograph and tell her,
"It's been nice knowing you."
Ha, she's the star collector, (Collector of stars)
She only aims to please young celebrities,
Yes, she's the star collector, (Collector of stars)
How can I love her when I just don't respect her?
When everything is going my way,
She wants to be close at hand,
She moves to some other doorway,
When things don't go the way she planned.
Yes, she's the star collector, (Collector of stars)
She only aims to please young celebrities,
Yes, she's the star collector, (Collector of stars)
Whoa, it won't take much time before I get her off my mind.
SOLO
'Cause she's the star collector, (Collector of stars)
Whoa, she only aims to please young celebrities,
Yes, she's the star collector, (Collector of stars)
Whoa, it won't take much time before I get her off my mind.

Bye-bye...

The Door Into Summer
by Chip Douglas & Bill Martin
With his fool's gold stacked up all around him,
From a killing in the market on the war,
The children left King Midas there, as they found him,
In his counting house where nothing counts but more.
And he thought he heard the echoes of a penny-whistle band,
And the laughter from a distant caravan,
And the brightly-painted line of circus wagons in the sand,
Fading through the door into summer.
With his travelogues of maybe-next-year places,
As a trade-in for a name upon the door,
(Ahhh, he throws it all away)
And he pays for it with years he cannot buy back with his tears,
When he finds out there's been no one keeping score.
And he thought he heard the echoes of a penny-whistle band,
And the laughter from a distant caravan,
And the brightly-painted line of circus wagons in the sand,
Fading through the door into summer.
Yes, he thought he heard the echoes of a penny-whistle band,
And the laughter from a distant caravan,
And the brightly-painted line of circus wagons in the sand,
Fading through the door into summer.
Fading through the door into summer,
Fading through the door into summer,
Fading through the door into summer,
Fading through the door into summer.

What Am I Doing Hangin' 'Round?
by Michael Murphey & Owens Castleman
Just a loud-mouthed Yankee, I went down to Mexico,
I didn't have much time to spend, about a week or so,
There, I lightly took advantage of a girl who loved me so,
But, I found myself a-thinking when the time had come to go.
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
I should be on that train and gone,
I should be riding on that train to San Antone,
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
She took me to the garden, just for a little walk,
I didn't know much Spanish and there was no time for talk,
Then she told me that she loved me, not with words, but with a kiss,
And like a fool, I kept on thinking of a train I could not miss.
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
I should be on that train and gone,
I should be riding on that train to San Antone,
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
Well, it's been a year or so, and I want to go back again,
And if I get the money, well, I'll ride the same old train,
But, I guess your chances come but once, and boy, I sure missed mine,
And, still, I can't stop thinking when I hear some whistle crying.
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
I should be on that train and gone,
I should be riding on that train to San Antone,
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
I should be on that train and gone,
I should be riding on that train to San Antone,
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
I should be on that train and gone,
I should be riding on that train to San Antone,
What am I doing hangin' 'round?
fade out...

Words
by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart
Girl, don't you know everytime I see you smiling,
It hurts so bad, cause when I see you, I start crying,
I've tried everything to stop, but there's no denying,
Falling in love with you, girl, is just like dying.
Oh, don't walk away,
How, how can I make you stay,
Don't turn away,
I can still hear you saying those words that never were true,
Spoken to help nobody but you,
Words with lies inside,
But, small enough to hide till your playing was through, ahh.
Girl, don't you know we could work it out with talking,
You won't turn around or slow down your walking,
I've given you everything with a kiss to seal it,
You had to get your kicks out of trying to steal it.
Now, I'm standing here,
Strange, strange voices in my ears,
I feel the tears,
But, all I can hear are those words that never were true,
Spoken to help nobody but you,
Words with lies inside,
But, small enough to hide till your playing was through, ahh.
